It’s that time of year again… we love a birthday gift guide.
I always find it so hard when people say ‘what do you want for your birthday’ when we’ve only just had Christmas so I like to put together some little guides to help if any of you are in the same position!
The YSL Black Opium scents are my absolute favourites- yes they’re more on the pricey side but they are so worth it and such a perfect gift. I started out with Floral shock and completely fell in love, I’ve now added the original Black Opium and for this years birthday I have include Black Opium the Glow Eau De Toilette Ever since falling in love with Floral Shock I have wanted to try out the others and I absolutely love them all. They’re such pretty scents but they’re all so sophisticated and gorgeous as well. You could wear them every day and get a bunch of compliments, or you could save them for special occasions – I honestly couldn’t recommend them enough.
Another of my favourite ranges is from Marc Jacobs, not only are the bottles the absolute prettiest things you’ve ever seen, but the scents are just delicious. I’ve tried a lot of the really fancy ones from Marc Jacobs so I thought this time round I’d go for the classic Daisy but in Eau So Fresh, and it didn’t disappoint.
Lip liners are my new best friend; I always used to stick with just lippie but lip liners actually make so much of a difference and I was after a really dark nude/neutral colour for this time of year to pair with the deeper reds and nudes. I went for this MAC Lip Pencil in Chestnut MAC are my go to when it comes to lip products, colour pay off is amazing, they’re creamy and they last for ages.
To go with the lip pencil I picked out two lipsticks, Sweet Sakura and Party Line. Sweet Sakura is a beautiful orangey red colour which I am really excited to wear as we move towards spring and Party line is a gorgeous purpley red, I have a lot of this type of colour for autumn/winter as it’s my go-to but this is a slightly lighter more subtle berry tone and I think will be wearable all year round. I don’t think you can ever go wrong with a MAC lipstick for a gift, they’re such a treat and are definitely my favourite lipstick brand.
I’ve been wanting to try out Lord and Berry Products for the longest time now so I thought I’d add this to my list. A good quality foundation is probably the most important part of a makeup routine and I love having a good base to apply the rest of my makeup to. This Lord and Berry Foundation is so creamy and applies like an absolute dream. It’s such a gorgeous consistency and feels really luxurious on the skin. I picked it up in Ivory as I’m so pale so I always go for the lightest shades!
And lastly I picked out this gorgeous NARS blush in Nico, it’s an incredibly light colour, it looks almost like a pressed face powder but I really wanted something light and subtle for the days where I don’t want to go all out with the contour or darker blushes. I love NARS products, they always last ages and the quality and pigment is second to none. Defo one of my favourite brands, and I adore the packaging and style of the brand too- perfect for a gift!
As always, Fragrance direct is such a winner for me to purchasing makeup, beauty and hair products, with an extra 10% for students on their already discounted prices of so many amazing amazing brands you really cant go wrong and I again, couldn’t rave about them enough – always a pleasure to work with!
