Goodbye 2018- Blog Round up

2018 has been a crazy year; elements of my personal life have been challenging, having to put university on hold due to my health, lost touch with a lot of people who I very much miss, but also met some amazing people who have changed my life for the better.  I’ve been to Austria…watched the entire series of Call the Midwife at least three times over…been a bridesmaid for two of my lovely work friends…cut my hair short, went back to blonde and tried to cut down on my Pepsi max addiction.

Blog wise, this year has been amazing, and it wouldn’t be right to finish off the year and not say thank you to some of the incredible brands I have worked with this year. If you’d have told me only 18 months ago that I’d have had some of the opportunities I have had through blogging this year I would have laughed at you. I had no idea that one day little old me, taking photos of make up in my bedroom and writing posts about my favourite skincare products or borderline clothes shopping addiction would end up collaborating with brands such as L’Occitane, Benefit, Jack Wills and Nintendo. It still absolutely baffles me but I am so grateful and so excited about what 2019 will bring.

I am finishing off 2018 with collaborations with Nintendo, Jack Wills, TruffleShuffle and Bloom Boutique. I’ve done three posts with Nintendo now, I think the Christmas content featuring the Nintendo Switch has to be my favourite but I also loved throwing it back with the 2DS and some of my older, well loved games. I also touched on some mental health related stuff with a post about how the 2DS helped me a lot on world mental health day.

Working with Nintendo has to be one of my coolest collaborations this year, don’t get me wrong, I adore working with makeup and beauty brands but there’s something really special about working with a brand you’ve loved since you were a child and I am incredibly lucky and grateful to have such a brilliant opportunity.

Jack Wills is possibly one of my most exciting collabs this year, again, not a brand I’d ever have imagined myself working with, but probably my most favourite clothing store. I created some Christmas content with them over on my Instagram and I was so happy with how the photos turned out, I also loved the festive vibes and it was defo a great finish off to the year.

Another of my solid favourites and couldn’t possibly go without a mention is of course, Truffle Shuffle. I pride myself on the fact I have taken my blog in all sorts of directions. I love make up, clothes and skincare, but I never wanted my blog to be purely about that because I love so many things. Truffle Shuffle is one of THE coolest brands I have ever come across, and had the pleasure of working with on multiple posts.

We’ve done Pizza Parties Retro Gift guides, Friends themed posts, Moomins, Birthdays, and Christmas and what a ball it’s been. (I am also in the midst of a New Year post so keep your eyes peeled) I couldn’t recommend these guys enough, not only do they stock the most amazing products; from home ware, to gifts, to games, to clothes…the quality of every single item I’ve had has been second to none. They also have the most unique and crazy cool items that you really don’t find anywhere else, Their Harry Potter and Friends ranges have to be some of my ultimate favourites.

Make-up wise I’ve been very lucky to work with brands such as Too Faced, Benefit, BH cosmetics, and Glo&Ray. I’ve done party look, natural looks, and all things rainbow and glitter. I’ve explored my love of make-up a lot more this year and I hope to continue to do so in 2019!

Benefit, again has always been a favourite of mine, I did a little post with them here about my absolute go to products and I also created a few makeup looks over on my Instagram, I’ve realised how much I value high end products and that they really are worth splashing out a little on. I’ve discovered my staple products and been able to improve my make-up looks a lot, there is something really lovely about having really great quality make-up and I am incredibly lucky to have worked with such a gorgeous brand this year!

In terms of skincare, at the beginning of 2018 I started working regularly with L’Occitane, which again, has been a favourite brand of mine for years and I still can’t quite believe that I’ve had these opportunities. From their beautiful perfumes, to their amazing skincare, I’ve had the chance to try out and love so many of their incredible products which will continue to feature across my social media for the foreseeable future. Everything about this brand, I adore. It’s classy and delicate and beautiful and I genuinely don’t think I have tried anything that I haven’t loved.

Another two of my firm favourite skincare brands which you will see a lot of across my social media, are Dermalogica and Pixi Beauty. It’s taken me a long time to try and test a lot of different brands over the years to realise which are my firm favourites and which I really do reach for on an everyday basis, and L’Occitane, Dermalogica and Pixi always seem to be at the front of my drawer.

Some of my most recent jewellery collabs include the gorgeous Muru, and Bloom Boutique. Both of which I have worked with for over a year now. They are hands down my absolute favourite jewellery brands, all of my staple pieces come from them and if you catch a gorgeous necklace or two in my Instagram outfit photos, there’s probably a 99% chance it’s either from Muru Jewellery or Bloom Boutique.

My gorgeous Constellation necklace from Muru has to be one of my all time favourite pieces of jewellery, along with my Drop Crescent Moon necklace. I rarely take these off and they look utterly beautiful layered together.

From Bloom Boutique, I have received and gifted some of the most beautiful, special and personal jewellery pieces I have ever seen. I recently featured three necklaces in a Jewellery Gift Guide. Their personalised jewellery is simply gorgeous, I have never seen anything like it, whether it’s something for yourself or something special for a loved one I couldn’t recommend them enough.

I have had some of the most incredible opportunities this year, and I want to say thank you to each and every single brand that I have worked with for having me on board, for being supportive and helping me grow. And also to all of you for reading my little corner of the internet and helping it become what it has. I have had the most exciting blog year to date and I hope to continue working with you all in 2019 and I can’t wait to see what it brings. I wish you all the very best New Year, I hope it’s filled with glitter, and champagne and all of your favourite people.

Huge hugs, from Evie x
