Halloween

It’s that time of year again… spooky month!

I’m a huge fan of anything that involves getting dressed up, doing my makeup and having an excuse for a party! I don’t do Horror films, or clown fancy dress, or anything that messes with your head, BUT I do, do glitter, fake wounds, pretty Halloween costumes and a whole lot of cocktails.

I am working with the wonderful Smiffys again which you guys know I love. I worked with them previously on Carnival week, Halloween & Christmas. Their range of costumes and fancy dress wear in general is incredible but their Halloween range blows me away every year. There’s so many options, whether you’re after something more glam, something cute and fun, something funny, something really damn creeeeepy, or something for children. I absolutely love the range of products they have especially all the movie/tv show related things, they’re fab!

This year I am turning myself into a Zombie School Girl I was very drawn in by the school girl vibes, especially with the tartan skirts, and gingham styles being mega in right now. Paired with Blood Splattered Socks and some black dolly shoes for the ‘girly’ look or heels for a Halloween night out this looks so good. I also added the Nicole Blonde Wig to pull the look together & I love it.

(for sizing reference, I always find Smiffy’s very accurate to my own size, there’s no need to go up or down a size, just stick to what normally would fit you! )

I have a huge thing about wigs at the moment, I feel that adding them to makeup looks really enhances the transformations you can create. I love adding them to a fancy dress costume and also when I’m just doing my make up a bit more ‘out there’. Smiffy’s do the most incredible wigs, Shop the Collection here. I have several of their wigs now for different outfits/occasions and they are so much fun to play around with. They are such gorgeous quality and look really realistic. They’re lovely and thick and easy to style, although I’ve never felt I’ve had to style them at all, they’re always ready to go!

As for Makeup I used a combination of Smiffy’s Face paints, Blood, liquid latex and my own makeup. For my face I used a little bit of Smiffy’s white face paint mixed in with a light foundation, I used the new Morphe Boss Mood palette and used the red and the matte black to just create the black under eyes, nothing too complicated! I also used a black lipstick from makeup revolution, and Benefit Gimmie Brow on my brows!

I used the Smiffys fake blood and dripped it on my forehead, cheek and lip. I didn’t want this makeup to be too ‘neat’ as obviously as a zombie you’re supposed to be dead… I wanted it to look fairly rough and not too ‘glam’

I also created this make- up look for Halloween so I thought I’d share that too in case you need some ideas, for this one I went a little less ‘gory’ and a bit more ‘glam’ & I used Smiffy’s facepaint for this look.

I also used Benefit KaBrow and Gimmie Brow for my eyebrows, and Bad Gal Bang mascara (which is legit the best mascara I have ever ever used…) before applying some eye candy lashes. These are my absolute fave lashes, I’ve never been all that great at applying lashes but these are so easy to apply and feel so comfortable on your eyes!

For eyes I used the BH cosmetics Take Me Back to Brazil palette and also their Foil Eyes palette for the blue shimmer on the lid. I honestly can’t get enough of BH Cosmetics, their products are amazing, the colours and quality of the shadows are insane and the pigmentation/colour pay off is incred.
